4 Months ’til the Wedding

The change from 5 months until the wedding to 4 months until the wedding made everything seem so much more real! It seemed like the wedding was suddenly so much closer! If you haven’t already, make sure you check out my wedding planning posts from every other month of our engagement so far.

Bridal Shower Invites

I’ve been thinking about and planning the bridal shower for a while now and it was finally time to order and send out invitations for the November 7th event! We’re doing a bridal shower brunch and I decided to have an “orange” theme – like the fruit. I have no clue why I settled on that other than that orange is one of my favorite colors.

I found super cute orange/champagne themed invitations on Zazzle and they were so easy to customize with all the info. The cards came quickly and when I got them in, I printed the addresses on the envelopes myself just using Excel and my printer at home. I love the way they turned out!

Pick Up Wedding Dress

I was sooo excited to pick up my wedding dress!! It came even earlier than I was anticipating. Even though I’d already had the dress on before, picking up my dress was the best feeling. I ordered a different size and colorway than the sample I tried on and there were a few snags and tears on the sample gown so putting on my own dress was PERFECT! It is exactly what I wanted and perfectly fits how I envisioned myself on my wedding day.

Bridal Alterations

The day after I picked my dress up, I took it to my lifelong seamstress, Marina of Alterations by Nora, to get alterations done. She recently stopped doing alterations full-time, but made an exception for me and my mom. Mom got her dress for the wedding altered at the same time. My wedding dress doesn’t need a ton of alterations, just a few things to make it fit like a glove and really suit my personality. I feel like picking it up completely altered will be the most exciting moment yet because the next time I have it on will be the wedding day!

Order Wedding Earrings

I scoured the internet to find the perfect pair of earrings for my wedding day. As a pageant girl, I’ve worn some LARGE earrings. While I love them, I wanted something a lot more understated for the wedding. I still wanted a little sparkle, but not something too noticeable. I found this website called olive + piper and they have the most stunning jewelry that is so perfect for brides or everyday wear. I saw these earrings and knew immediately that’s what I wanted for my wedding day. They’re even more beautiful in person!

Order Cake Topper

I went straight to Etsy in search of the perfect cake topper. I found exactly what I wanted, but I won’t say too much so I don’t spoil the surprise. It’s really cute and captures Jared and I perfectly!

Rent Jared’s Suit

I’ve always envisioned Jared and the groomsmen in dark gray suits, but told Jared he could wear whatever color or style suit he liked best. It’s his day too, right? I know he’ll look best if he’s comfortable and likes what he’s wearing. Fortunately, he also liked the idea of dark gray suits. We went to Men’s Warehouse on a Sunday afternoon and got Jared fitted. We figured out all the pieces we liked best for the suit and they put together a group code for us so when all the groomsmen get fitted, they’ll be sure to get the exact pieces we decided on. It was a quick, easy process and I know all the guys will look great! The only thing that worries me is that they don’t get their suits until 2 days before the wedding… That’s a great way to freak this Type A planner out!

Order Groomsmen Ties

The website I used for the bridesmaid dresses, Azazie, also has accessories for the guys to match the exact color of the girls’ dresses. I ordered each of the guys a straight tie to go with their suits. I also ordered our ring bearer, Mason, a boys’ tie in the same color so he’ll match!
