Wedding Pre-Planning

As I’ve mentioned, I have been waiting to get engaged for about 2 years now. Given that, I had quite a bit of time to think about what kind of wedding I wanted, who I would invite, etc. I had a date (January 2, 2021) picked out about a year ago so every day I wasn’t engaged was less time I had to ultimately plan. I knew once that ring was on my finger I’d have to hit the ground running. So here’s what I’d planned before we even got engaged. Continue reading

Things To Do During Quarantine

This is definitely not a post I ever thought I’d be writing – yet here I am with ways to stay busy during this crazy quarantine. I’m the queen of staying busy. If I have any down time, I’m bored immediately and it drives me nuts. So clearly this quarantine is both a blessing and a curse. I have a ton of time to get things done, but I’m scared of the day that to-do list dwindles and I’m left with nothing else to do.

Jared’s Foray Into Pure Barre

I am an avid Pure Barre attendee. Fortunately, I have a partner who supports this addiction rather than groan about it when I wake up early on a Sunday morning to get my workout in. It’s not uncommon to hear him cheering, “Yes girl! You get those 250 classes!” as I leave the house to make it to barre by 8:30 a.m. However, one thing he was never expecting to do is lift, tone, burn alongside me at barre. Yet that is exactly how we spent our Valentine’s Day! Continue reading

Christmas Game Tournament

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. For Christmas Eve, my family all gets together at my Grandma’s house to celebrate. Usually we hang out for a bit, eat dinner, do secret Santa, and leave. I felt like we needed to mix things up and interact more so this year I created the Christmas Game Tournament and let me tell you, it was a BLAST! I’ve outlined all the games and included pictures. Everyone had so much fun working together as teams to win. The teams were randomly drawn out of a hat so the families were all kinds of mixed up, which worked perfectly.

New Year’s Goals

I’m big on goal setting – it’s the enneagram Type 3 in me (No clue what I’m talking about? Take the quiz and find out what type you are). So naturally, I really get into the goal-setting mood as January 1st approaches. I decided to share the goals I set (I prefer goals to resolutions) at the start of 2019 and whether or not I achieved them. At the end I included my goals for 2020 – tbd on what I actually manage to achieve this coming year! Continue reading

25 Days of Christmas Movies

I love all things Christmas – especially Christmas movies! Between Netflix, Hallmark, Lifetime, Freeform, and so many more, there is always a surplus of Christmas movies new and old every holiday season. This year, I’m making it my goal to watch (at least) one Christmas movie a day from December 1st to the 25th. Here, I’m going to keep a running list of every movie and my thoughts on it as I go. Favorite Game Day Outfits

The best part of summer coming to an end is that college football is right around the corner! I’ve been a season ticket holder for Gator football games since the day I was born, so I’ve been to quite a few game days. One of my favorite parts of Saturdays in the fall is picking out the perfect game day outfit to show my school spirit! Here are a few of my favorites for any type of football game you may go to. My Story of Losing

I wrote a blog post (linked here) for a class assignment a few years ago on how I’ve lost far more pageants than I’ve ever won and what all I’ve learned from that journey. That original post was written right after I won Miss DeSoto Heritage 2017, so it ended on a high note. Recently, for a different class assignment, we had to write a personal story as a book. I loved My Story of Losing so much I decided to use it. However, the story had more to it in the 2 years since I’d written the original. So here for everyone’s pleasure, is the updated version of My Story of Losing. Enjoy! Continue reading

Finally Reaching the Pure Barre 100 Club

In Pure Barre there are “clubs.” More specifically, the 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1,000 clubs. To reach the 100 club, you have to take 100 Pure Barre classes. To reach 250, you have to take 250 classes, you get the idea. I finally – two weeks before my 1 year Pure Barre anniversary – reached the 100 club! It was not an easy road at all, but it was so freaking rewarding! Continue reading
