Hawaiian Honeymoon | Oahu | Day 2

The second day of our honeymoon was just as great as the first and brought all kinds of new adventures. Today we got to explore a whole new part of the island of Oahu.

We started our morning at Pearl Harbor. We made sure to get there early so we would beat the crowds and boy are we glad we did. At Pearl Harbor there are a few different aspects to see – the USS Arizona battleship, the museum, and the USS Bowfin submarine. You have to take a ferry over to the battleship and we decided not to do that part because a long line was already forming. Everything else was easily accessible and we were the only people there!

We walked through the submarine and were amazed that so many people lived on it for so long. It was such a tight space! Then, we walked through the museum and it was really interesting. What amazed Jared especially was how much of a war went on Navally before the atomic bombs were dropped, yet we never hear about those battles. It was so nice being the only people there and not feeling rushed at all as we walked through.

We went to Big City Diner near Pearl Harbor for breakfast and it was just eh. Nothing special.

After relaxing for a little bit back at our hotel it was time to leave for our next adventure. Before we headed out of Waikiki on our long drive to the other side of the island, we stopped at Kono’s for lunch. It’s just a little walk-up counter, but the food was so good! I got kalua pork sliders and Jared got a club wrap.

For our big adventure of the day we did a UTV tour at Kualoa Ranch. The 4,000 acre ranch has so many activities to choose from like zip lining, horseback riding, UTV tours, bus tours, etc. and it’s where scenes from so many different movies were filmed. On our 2-hour UTV tour we got to see filming locations from Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (my personal favorite), 50 First Dates, Jurassic Park/World, Jumanji, Magnum P.I., and so many more.

On our tour we had a few stops to take pictures with the stunning scenery as our backdrop.

We had about 6 UTVs on our tour and boy did it get dusty. We started the tour nice and clean and ended up filthy! The tour was so much fun and I would definitely recommend any of Kualoa Ranch’s tours to anyone visiting Oahu.

After rinsing off all the dirt back at the hotel, we went to Waikiki Brewing Co. for dinner. They had a full liquor bar with signature cocktails, which I was excited about. The drinks were amazing, but the food was very subpar. We wish we’d just gone for drinks and gotten food elsewhere.

It’s crazy we’ve only been here two days and we don’t plan on slowing down tomorrow!
