I know what you’re thinking – it’s about damn time! Trust me, I feel you!

I wanted to come on here to share a little about the proposal and something I want to do on this blog throughout our engagement.

How He Asked

Jared and I have been dating for just over 8 years (since my freshman year of high school!) so I’ve basically been waiting (very impatiently) the past 2 years for Jared to propose. I was getting down to my last straw if I’m being honest.

Jared and I were in the process of buying a house and he suggested we bring Moose by the house so he could run around and see it. It was really cool because when we pulled up to the house the sign out front had been changed from Available to Sold so it was the first time it felt like it was really our home!

We went inside and let Moose check it out to make sure he approved of our new house. When we were standing in the living room, Jared said, “The only thing that would make this better is if you would marry me,” and got down on one knee with the ring!

I was so surprised and started crying – of course! And obviously I said yes. Jared picked the ring out completely on his own and it is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!

Only my dad and Jared’s Nana knew he was going to propose so we drove straight to my mom’s house to tell her and then called the rest of our immediate friends and family to let them know our exciting news.

We were so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from all of our family and friends via Instagram, Facebook, and texts. We are so honored to have so many incredibly supportive people in our lives.

Wedding Planning

Going forward from here, I thought it would be fun to do a post each month sharing the wedding planning I did that month. I’ll share a post soon about the pre-engagement planning we’ve already done since I was too impatient to wait much longer and then the first “month” post will be posted at the end of April.

My parents’ neighbor said, “Now you can start planning!” and my dad replied, “No, now she can start executing,” and that about sums it up!
